Meet our family, Chania (Mum), Flash (Dad), Billy & Zia. We’re all Kenyan and we’ve all lived in Kenya our entire lives.

Chania has worked in African tourism since 1993; managing lodges, marketing lodges and now trying to fill lodges (this can be a link to TSC); this is why we spend so much time visiting lodges so she can get it perfectly perfect for all her guests.

Flash is a rally driver by reputation, hence he takes incredible off the beaten track safaris (this can be a link to this page on TSC); and teaches people how to rally drive (this can be a link to this page on TSC) in beautiful places.

Billy & Zia have grown up barefooted, up trees & in muddy puddles in Kenya .. and beyond…. They’re are dragged around (only sometimes kicking & screaming) by Chania in search of wonderful places, experiences & adventures for Chania to send her guests to.

About

This is our family’s scrapbook, our advice column, and our love letter to adventure.

Since Billy was born in 2012, we have been lucky enough to go on more than 100 safaris & see more than 500 African lodges. This site isn’t about bragging rights, it’s about sharing our real experiences, gloriously beautiful places, deeply uncomfortable places, about getting stuck, finding solutions, having mud fights, the embarrassing moments, the places that made us more comfortable, the welcomed sunrises, the even more welcomed sundowners …. and the lessons learned (maybe???), so that your journey is easier and more magical.

We are lucky, as well as Africa, we’ve travelled the world, some of us to 33 countries and counting…. We’ve shared these experiences too, for a bit of fun J.

Curious why we pour our hearts into this?
